A game of two halves for me. Started before going to sleep last night when it seemed tricky. Completed on waking up this morning when it all slotted smoothly into place. COD 11.

This was a write in for me. Is Everyman gradually getting easier? I think it unlikely that I've finally started getting better at crosswords at my time in life. COD also 11, which I noticed rhymes with its mirror pair.

Fitzrover, interesting that you think Everyman is getting easier, it’s been the opposite for me over the last couple of weeks! This definitely took me longer than usual, maybe I’m off from though. What does everyone else think?
My COD is 1a, very nice I thought (although it gave me trouble as I missed that it’s (8,2) and was trying to get a ten letter word).

20a was the first time I have come across this imaginative anagrind, it took me quite a bit of head scratching before realising it could be an adverb! Surprised not to see any reference to today's date. Thanks Everyone, nice Sunday morning workout.

I tend to agree this was on the easier side, fun nonetheless, but I think Everyman is pretty consistent overall. I can recommend today’s Azed if you’re looking for more of a challenge.

Indeed, Justsolve, an Everyman from a few months back would have been appropriate today…

…and from Brendan, one of the best Saint George themed puzzles from last year, which I now see used the same ‘segregation’ anagram…

The first three quarters of this was a write-in for me - and then I slowed down towards the east. LOI also 19, and my COD was 20 - I agree with Justsolve that it was a clever choice of anagrind giving a smooth surface.

Didn't find it quite as easy although just waking up. Loved 7d nostalgic and 11a very witty.

First completed one for ages but very far from a write in. LOI 11a and almost gave up on 19a,26a and 21d .

I'm stuck on 26, but otherwise fairly easy. Hints?
