Sorry for the delay. OK I’m pleased to see how even our most taciturn posters are pushing the boat out in terms of entries! Feels like a real competition again!

Results are as follows;

In bronze position on 3 votes apoece we have Buddy 2 and Tyke 20

In joint silver on 4 votes apiece we have Chris 8, Mattrom 12, Jon 18 and 34

But for the Gold in a surprise 3-way tie on 6 votes we have
Darla 13, Buddy 19, and Geeker 29

Under these conditions I will tot up everybody’s total votes.
Darla 6,, Buddy 9, Geeker 6.

I therefore declare the winner to be Buddy with his masterful

“Why does losing mass destroy symmetry?"

Congratulation Buddy and here are you prizes;

The international man of mystery himself with his fat friend;

Maths mysteries that remain unsolved;

The mystery of the pyramids;

…and finally, the most impenetrable mystery of all - what women want as finally solved by Bill Murray in Groundhog day;

Thanks to all for the votes. The form of the clue was inspired by this month's Harper's puzzle (which syzygy kindly posts here every month). Every clue is in the form of a question - not too difficult but worth a look IMO. The clue itself seems like it could be a puzzle in physics but whether it actually makes any sense or not, I don't know.

Thanks paul for hosting and prizes. Groundhog Day is a movie I can watch over and over and over again. As for the Collatz Conjecture, I have a truly marvelous demonstration of this proposition which this margin is too narrow to contain.

Congrats, Buddy de Fermat. I've actually solved half of those, but the world isn't ready yet. I have the latest issue of Harper's here, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Fun idea.

Thanks to all who voted for my clue, and to Paul for hosting, and the clips.

As to what women want, it's not a mystery. We want men to stop asking that question.

Good job Buddy
Thanks Buddy, the clips will have my full attention tomorrow.

In an effort to get a few more players I have posted a thread entitled "An invitation to all solvers"

Your comments there would be appreciated. Thanks Jono for responding.
