Penny abandons old coin in suite (5,5)

I know the answer is three-piece but not how to get it!

Is the "old coin" a 'three penny piece' so without the penny it's just "three piece"?

Thanks Jayne, it took me a while to remember the 'thrupenny bit' as I was more familiar with the sixpence which the rag and bone man used to give us when we took out old clothes for him - and an apple for his horse, of course:-)
