I'm with Smot! I was floundering for ages and had more belated PDMs than I can ever remember with an Everyman. Weirdly, though, ultimately didn't need to resort to this site's fill-in-the-gaps feature or even a thesaurus. But it would have been a very different story if 11D hadn't suddenly occurred to me after half an hour of head scratching. (Although I was looking for a shocked expression rather than 'I promise' for all but the last 10 seconds of that!)

I found the bottom right corner hardest, specially 27 ac which I thought was great in spite of groaning when I saw it. I had put in 'even' for 3 down thinking 'event without the top of tent', and I intended to go back to it as it lacked a definition and didnt really make sense anyway, but saw the post about it 1st! Thanks!

Wasn't able to do this yesterday, so only just doing it now. Stuck in the SW - 14d, 19d and 26a. Any hints appreciated.

Julesvern, it's always good to give the clue, letter counts etc. Those of us without a copy would like to help, attempt to help, but can't!
