Yep: another themed crossword made unsolveable for me when the theme totally eludes me. Always the way I find: last week's prize was a doddle but no chance with this attempt. I got maybe a third of them including 10/24 but too few to fill in the gaps. Hoping for better luck next week.

Brendan what can I say? When you get results like that you start to believe it might just happen. Again not a great afternoon for you guys. What's happening there?

Roof don't get hung up on the dance. I have no knowledge of that but I know the theme. All be it I didn't know all the characters in it without Google

i had all the crossers in 8, and there was only really one word that fitted. googling that word gave the theme (which i knew nothing about either)

Hello All! Haven’t posted for ages but read the forum every week. I am totally stumped by half of the puzzle (left) this week. Weirdly I think I have the theme (got 8a, 7d, 25a etc) but can’t work out the 10,24 clue. I can see what it obviously would be but those words then make 14d for instance really weird. What am I not seeing/getting wrong?! I really need the help from the fantastic forum! Thanks!

Noeyedeer. It's an anagram so if you solved it that way you probably have the right answer.

Thanks to all of you who replied. I went out into the cold and got in the washing and that gave me the fillip I needed. I just have two left, which I may have answers for, but I just can't parse them. They are 18d. which isn't themed. I have N?T???D and am assuming the definition is "marked". I don't have 25ac I have ??I?K?N? but cannot see the parsing or the character.

I have got an answer to 16,22, but I can't parse it. I loved 16,22 when the penny finally dropped helped by lots of crossers. One more google I think to get 25ac and confirm 16,22 and I may be satisfied.

Love the crossword, but hate the theme.

Ahhh. I found the 10,24 for 25ac and got the answer. I can't quite parse 18d, but it will have to do as dinner is on the table.

My FOI was 12ac, followed by 1d. My LOI is 18d and my CODs 7,27 and 14d

Off to eat.
