sticky. i have 8d and 11a left, and may well have 12a wrong - i can't see any parsing. any pointers, please?

I did have 12 wrong. I have now filled the grid, having got medical advice from my wife on 8d, but I still haven't parsed either of these.

I think perhaps you need to think of listener as the organ (singular) not the person doing the listening

Hi Hywel,
4a is a rather old fashioned word for commotion. Parses 1,5.
9a the hands in question are dealt.
