i am certain the letters I have are correct, and the answer that comes to mind is NOSEGAY, but it doesn't fit or parse. Help!

Again I have realised the answer moments after posting, NOSEAN, NOSE for bouquet and a new = AN.

Yes, the answer is LONG TOM, a type of terracotta flower pot.

Along without lid = LONG, cat = TOM
