4d. Birds my sage stuffing is not used in: G_E_E
- The answer is fairly obviously GEESE, but I just can't work out why!
Any help much appreciated

Geese is right. Gee is my, cor, and s(ag)e is sage without the stuffing, inside

Thanks Quisling! I never would have got this - I was wandering down trails of Ancient Greek and Roman sages and getting hopelessly lost.

Neat, an old word for a cow, catlle etc, and Neat, without water, in drinks.
