I saw how it means "orderly" but could not see the rest of it.

I came to this for relief from the current Listener (almost full grid but still no idea what’s going on - ma heid’s birlin’).

What a joy this was! Thank you, Plench; I went from feeling rather like the criminal to much more like the spirit of the message, and now sport a broad smile.

Here's hoping just posting the question will work it's magic.

I cannot for the life of me see the wordplay for 19 across. I have all the checked letters and can only see one possible answer.

12 is getting me, despite having 3 letters; *ICE.
I can find a word which goes with 'Rolls', but that would need 'this' to be 'these'. Or, horror of horrors, my answer to be singular.
As for the chauffeur, I am completely missing this.
Any pointers much appreciated.

12a - the "rolls" are from a dice (that's not the answer) and it's a name for the number 6 - it's also an Indian term for a "chauffeur"

Both are in Chambers so it's just a matter of going through the ?ICE entries.
