For fans of Everyman I thought this was a particularly good one. Some nifty parsing here and there, mixed with some easier clues.

Stuck on my last two, 23D and 26A, American tires and asparagus! I would be grateful for two firm steers.

i liked 15 and 18. definition for 24 rather odd.

I had more trouble with the definition for 23d, which is extremely tenuous imo. Absolute fluke that the correct bear popped into my head to provide the answer! Not too keen on the defs for 9a and 3d either. Needles to say, top left and bottom right were a struggle! Enjoyed the rest though.
