Majority of grid done . Can’t see a theme yet. Would help to have a nudge for the following please : kids concealing Ohio Senator’s eyeglasses (11)

eyeglasses is definition, but it's thematic so 6 letters in need changing. Also (not one of the 6), 1st letter is from changed entry to 6A

Ok Thanks muraria- looks like I need to work on to get to the theme - it didn’t look like a real word in the grid that I had reached . I could see a word that fitted for eyeglasses if I ignored the grid that I had .

Please help with 6a and 24d. Think these are non-thematic?

The realisation of the theme, which came with 23d, was truly a PDM! (Sergeant Pluck’s theory of illness also came to mind…)

6a is thematic (initially it's an anagram inside 'furrow' 3 letters, reversed).
24d half of 'us' inside a word for (was) 'cut up'

I also struggled at 7 down, and came here to see if I wasn't alone, so thanks to malone at post #4. Obvious really😃

Been at this all afternoon, and one left to get, 42a, which I assume is a themester, and obviously I have 5 of the 6 letters. Is it 3 letters for kid around 3 letters for note?

5 letter kid around 1 letter note

That of course is the clue answer, not the grid entry. 5 letters need to be replaced in the grid entry.
