No problems until the dreaded (for me) word search; hints about the 9-letter "two-word description" would be appreciated.

Aslac, I'd consider the word as hyphenated, and it involves anagramming.

I seriously dislike word searches too but I think the two words (4,5) are split across two lower rooms.

muraria, silly me thinking it would not be fair for words to go through walls (if indeed I have the (4,5) you're referring to). Not the best ending for an otherwise perfectly cromulent puzzle, I think.

Well, Ithink I have finished this but am left with a sense of 'Oh, is that it?' so who knows? Perhaps I'm missing something, but it feels a bit ho hum at the end.

Apologies if Ive misunderstood, but I think the two words are (3,6), although split (4,5) to be 'nearly' symmetrical at the sides of the grid?

That makes more sense - I was actually looking for that but was not expecting words to be split up OR go through walls!

I'm still confused by the endgame. I have a couple of words (4, 5) across the lower rooms. Not sure if they're right. No idea about the key. Does it make a four letter word?
