Quite possibly the most difficult to track down theme for a while, as well as some pretty obscure words.

I didn't think that, buzzybee. For me, it all came together quite nicely - and relatively quickly. There are many puzzles, Spectator and otherwise, that I have found much tougher.

Could I join this thread and ask for help with the answers to two clues- 36a Woman with liberal air (5) ?A?TA and 36d See flying saucer cut and run (4) ?A?F.. Thanks

I usually enjoy puzzles from Pabulum the most of the Spectator setters but this one was rather spoiled for me by the fact that the title sent me straight to the Chambers headword(s).
