I’m going to be brief because I’m on our island with just a phone and my awkwardly large fingers. I very much enjoyed reading your entries. A few especially nice touches were simplesimon’s “police nympho,” dorrien’s “she put the kettle on,” and mattrom’s “spinning several different lines.” I’m going with geeker @15, partly because I have a collection of Josquin recordings, acquired in my wild youth, and have been awash in nostalgia lately; but really, it’s a nice clue.

Thanks, aristo, enjoyed the clip. Attractive/tempting word to clue, but it proved difficult to come up with an entry.

I discovered Renaissance polyphony only in 2013 and became somewhat of an enthusiast. I own at least one recording of Missa Papae Marcelli and enjoy the work of The Sixteen. Have been a Dolphy fan for longer...
