(a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away)
Dear fellow solvers,
first of all, no my post did not get lost in time.
I'm asking for your kind help to parse an old clue from an EV that dates back to 2008.
I enjoy practising on past grids between 2 Sundays. Unfortunately EV puzzles were not blogged yet in 2008, so although the solutions for past puzzles are available beside each grid 2 weeks later, the parsing of the clues is not included.
Once in a while, the wordplay eludes me. But I'm sure my fellow solvers will come to my rescue. Here's the clue (bear in mind that the wordplay does not include one of the letters) :
"Chinese doctor's response to American prejudice (4)"
The answer is BIAS (prejudice). And the letter S is not included in the wordplay.
I suppose the A in bias means "American"? But I can't understand the "Chinese doctor's response" bit (BI?)
Thank you for your time and help.
