I am not familiar with any pubs in WM but some of my friends are.
I do know quite a few drummers in the area, as my late cousin was a jazz drummer

Actually Jazzgirl, - I'm looking after a friend's dog while he's on holiday and, so far, it's going well but he suffers terrible separation anxiety so I'm forever having to reassure him - the dog that is:-) - any advice?

I saw on YouTube that letting him have an item of clothing from the owner, with his scent and the like, so I've done that and it seems to work.

It is sad. I have done a lot of dog-sitting and they are constantly looking throuh the window wondering where their owner is.
Friends always leave some of the dog's favourite toys and treats and an item of clothing, and the dog's own bed and blankets.
Just give them plenty of cuddles and allow them on the sofa, maybe.
I have had 3 labradors on the sofa with me at one time. (mine and two from a friend )

Thanks Jazzgirl, in addition to the T-shirt, he has 2 of his cuddly toys here (one of which he always puts in his mouth after eating).

He's actually sitting with me on the sofa at this very moment and I let him sleep on my bed - so much for a dog's life!

I am very envious, Brendan.
How lovely.
All our dogs used to end up on the bed !
What breed is he or is it a mixture ?

He is part shih tzu but I'm not sure what he's mixed with - cuddly little fellow.

I can believe how much of a conversation starter he is when I take him for walks - total strangers just keep coming up and start stroking him:-)

He sounds really cute.
Walking a dog is one of the quickest and loveliest way to meet new people.
Sometimes a quick walk will turn into a couple of hours, bumping into people and chatting.
You will miss him when he returns to his home
