I can't imagine it would matter where you start the lines from the rising object (very harsh grading if it does!)

Having actually watched the relevant scene on YouTube just now, it does seem that a single line from the graphic to the titular object is more in keeping with the scene, and having it hit the center of the object is pretty much what happens in the scene.

And in the scene, the lines do come out of the graphic at a different angle than they go in
