This an alphabetical jigsaw that I thought I'd try. I got absolutely nowhere. So I went to the 15squared site where the blogger said "If you are new to jigsaws then one trick to learn is to look out for clues where the wordplay only works if the solution is a down entry. Reversal indicators are the most common example of this. Julius kindly provides a few of them to help us here.".
One such answer is "Diocese" but there are six places where that could go.
The commentators seem to think it was quite easy.
Would someone who has done it please explain how they put in the first (say) four entries with absolute confidence.

Hi Loubyloo,
The other valuable piece of information that Julius provides is that there is a pangram of starting letters. That meant a high chance WHIZZ-KID would go in 1a in order to give Z and K as starting letters. KETCH and DIOCESE (both indicated as down clues by way of their wordplay) then seem likely down entries for 4d and 5d and so on… at least that’s how I got started, I’m sure there are many other ways in.

Thanks for the reply. I have a rule never to attempt a Monk crossword as no matter how much time and effort I put in, at best I'll get a handful of entries and when I see the answers I'll know that I'd never have got them in a month of Sundays. I'll add alphabetical crosswords as just not being the worth the effort.
I used to be a reasonable skier but I knew there were some slopes in some conditions where it was just too dangerous to even try. You have to know your limits.
