Question.
Insect destroyed both sides of horticulture centre

Locust. Why?
All I can get is the centre of the word. CU. And destroyed meaning LOST.
But that doesn't seem quite right.
Also the letters except s ( for sides) are in horticulture.
Any help explaining gratefully received.

You have it. It's "lost", as in ruined, destroyed, surrounding "cu", the centre of horticulture. There is no more to it than that

Thank you quisling. Lost just didn't seem a strong enough word but now I'm thinking " all is lost" is destruction so it's a help
to readjust my thinking. Thanks
