As usual I stumble at the last hurdle. Have everything, but can't see how those erased letters reveal a by-product. Nudge appreciated.

aspria,
I still have three to solve.
The person making the statement is British and I had to google the phrase to find him.
I think the letter that appears often in extra letters has to be kept and rest erased. That is how I am interpreting it.

I may be wrong.

But surely the last (not the Chambers one) sentence of the preamble indicates the number of cells to be removed. There are N such clues, so N cells should be erased.

Do we just remove the same letter each time it is in the grid, leaving many non-words?

For my extras I have 9 of the same letters, two of another and one solitary one. Does that correspond to what others have? There are 10 of the first category in the grid and several of the others. I can see what we're aiming at, just not how to get there. I'm assuming just those extra letters are erased not all the rest.

Aspria, h'mm. Apart from the phrase and the person, I have 10 of the same letter ... and that's all,

I have the same as Malone but do we just remove them leaving gibberish?

Located error now and agree with others. I'm just removing those letters.

Does anyone else feel that these lectures are becoming a bit of a drag?
