Absolutely no idea how to solve this one

It’s a literary reference to a gothic verse (American). Four letter word for therefore around a four letter word for babble

Mmmm - I can see what you mean, jono, but "therefore" for me would be "thus" rather than the required word.

It's in my thesaurus, ChrisE.

No idea what the four letter word for therefore could be or what the four letter word for babble is despite some letters.

Hmm -none of the thesauruses (thesauri?) had therefore =then or babble =rave .
I can't think of a sentence where you can substitute then for therefore.
I think babbling means more talking incoherently than raving.
I can safely say that I've never heard of The Raven.
In my dreams if this had been a crossword competiton. I might have been in with a shout until that very last clue -how cruel that would have been!
