Paul, I believe 8 is: These seeds = Peanuts + I "germinate" = anagram indicator, and you get "petunias."

In third place with 7 votes is Mattrom@8 with a nice compound anagram which Mathprof neatly explained @56 so I don’t have to :-)
In second place is Mathprof@37 with a clever construction, “shock over” was a nice touch.
But out in front with 11 votes is Tyke@18, initial letters and an extended definition…
