Cryptis clue "It's meals are late" I have put 'Vampire' which gives me an M and an I for two other clues:-
"Woeful cry from a girl say" ?M?S
and
Dog that is famous in science ?I?I?
(Woeful cry I assumed was ALAS but now I have an M in it????????? with the Vampire answer?????
Any ideas?

I think you are right with ALAS - could it be Vulture?

I think ALAS is right and VAMPIRE is wrong (it doesn't consume the dead).
