Thanks to everyone who contributed so many great clues this week. I thought the word had many possibilities, and you certainly explored them all.
There were clever anagrams (including subbies, indirect and compound) from buddy 16, FJ 23&24, SS 25 and spike 37. The Greek goddess was summoned up by jono 5&7, and tyke 14.
Some famous/ not so famous names cropped up in buddy's 'Blunt', geeker's 'Bates' (credit for tackling a 'hidden') and aristo's 'E.B. White'.
The 'de bait' clues from chrise 4 and dorrien 7 raised a smile.
My not-so-short list included paul 10, patrich 8, geeker 18, useby 21, SS 25, tyke 26, jono 7&34, aristo 28, spike 37.
Finally, just pipping patrich 8, jono #7's naughty nymph captured the imagination
