Woke early. Unheard of for me to be first to post. Also unbelievable that
i cracked this in less than one hour. FOI was 15a which shows how few I got on my first run through. LOI 26a. COD 13d I think. First run through it looked tricky. I could not see any of the four letter words which I often find difficult. The down anagrams helped me make progress. Wishing you all a good day. COYS.

Could not see a theme. No alliteration. One primarily. Afraid this post is not as insightful as a typical Brendan offering. But happy to help others later in the day.

One of my favourites. 24a reminded me of "winter draws on". Yes but they are a bit scratchy.

Solved all bar 23a without many pauses. Had letters 1 & 3 but despite going through the alphabet three times just couldn't get it .
