Thanks, syzygy and sunray.
I've only been doing these Harper's puzzles for a few months, and this one was by far the toughest. But much fun! The final holdout clue took a long time and required Google to confirm parsing (unfamiliar term).

Thanks again syzygy and sunray, the "net" grid an interesting and helpful at times format. A few Americanisms I had to confirm online but hey it's an American puzzle. Most enjoyable, cheers.

Great puzzle. It took me a while to realize that mental folds would give you matching letters too (duh). I don’t quite get the “following” in Face II 4.
Thanks, syzzie and sunray.

Hi aristo, I took it as "resulting from" ... distinguishing it from "paternal". I meant to say I loved "well-connected" in IV 7.

Thanks, ginge. I figured pretty much the same thing; I was wondering if the term might have another meaning though.
I loved that one too!

Have to admit (with no small degree of shame) that I completely missed the "mental folds" mentioned by aristo.
Might have aided with the solution....
Thanks to Mr. Maltby for an ingenious construction!

I have been doing Harpers for years. This grid was used at least once before.

Not sure in Face V, 6 what Corresponding Pieces have to do with the answer.

Also not sure what * clues have in common.

I hope more solvers will give this puzzle a shot.
Very enjoyable.

sunray, for Face V, 6 perhaps see (tinyurl to avoid spoilers)

Agreed on the * "classic" clues, I don't know what's meant.

Thanks, Syzygy and Sunray, a great puzzle. I made a few wrong 'turns' which held things up a bit.
I ended up making a cutout so that I could more easily see which edges were adjacent.
