Question.
Remove man on board in fit of pique.
Answer.
Huff
But the reason? I wonder if it's man called Huffman on electronic circuit board. Can't see answer in chess board or ship board or table.
Any help gratefully received.

No, Huff is just a word used in games (draughts, chess)? for one of the pieces, men. It also means 'a fit of pque'.,

Thanks, xwordfan, that's much better - I was too busy trying to remember games from my childhood, the terminology used etc.

It’s a term in draughts. If a player’s piece fails to capture when it is able to do so, the opponent can remove it from the board. That is a huff

Thank you all so much. My thoughts were rather flights of fantasy. I do feel the need to know why, not just get the correct answer. There is always help on this forum.
