35 across is "Mixed dish to bring on, going round - cut edging off (4)"

I have O-LA so it must be OLLA, defined by "mixed dish" but I don't get the wordplay. Any suggestions?

CALL OUT ('to bring on') reversed ('going round') with CUT removed from the outside ('cut edging off').

Your letters are fine. Anagramming is involved.

PS It's always good to give the clue, then those without a copy can help/try to help.

1a See subordinate with time for a break learning to earn a crust (11)

I thought all entries in this plain Azed puzzle were words from Chambers (2014). I don't really understand why there should be an anagram. Please explain a bit more.

It is in Chambers, and it's an anagram (as Malone says), of SUBORDINATE with another T replacing A ('time for a').

Thank you. Let down by both Quinapalus and TEA & Sympathy. Good word.

Bananabean, when I saw the answer was in Chambers, I thought my nudge would be enough to help. Glad you got there.
