Please help me in solving this cryptic crossword clue

Robin perhaps is about to hang, charged with approaching minor (8)

No cutting letters are available. I thought of SIDEKICK as answer, but unable to parse it.

it looks like it is...
SI = is reversed
with DECK = hang
around KI(d) = approaching means not the full word

next time please give details of the puzzle (publication/number) so that others can enjoy it...hope this helps

Thanks Culmer for parsing the clue. I didn't know approaching means not the full word. Learnt a new thing.
I will give the details of the puzzle henceforth.

about "approaching" it is only a guess, and is in the sense of "he's approaching 100" = he's not quite there yet. That's the great thing about cryptics - we're always learning.
