kt17 is no more.

The former kt17 now subscribes to the name Hounds,

Love to all,

Welcome, Hounds - that sounds an awful lot older than the 17-year-old girl, Katie, i had always envisaged!

Welcome Hounds - have you moved from Surrey to Garelochhead? Can you see Faslane, or is it just around the corner?

Malone - George aged 84 would be nearer the mark!

ChrisE - yes we are near neighbours of theirs although we see nothing of the base from our house, except they built a mooring point on our shoreland - on which occasionally they string the front of a large grey boat to, which if we crane our necks we can see the pointy bit of (technical terms). Over on the West side of the loch of course the base is visible. We have subby/naval friends now and the base troubles us not a bit - if Dobby drops a nuclear bomb on the base we will not suffer very long.

Yes Jono, it is quite a move - or as I might put it, quite a good move. Our village is said to be the southerliest settlement in the Highlands and as the southernmost house in the village we think we can claim the title of first house in the Highlands - or as they put it in The Archers, "the Highlands, north of Glasgow".

Lots of love

M (Hounds)

Hounds? Zounds!

M - What prompted the change ftom Surrey boy to Highlander? My ex was bought up in Alva glen even though she’s English and is always moaning about wanting to leave London…
(Didn’t want to blow your cover by addressing you by your real name if you wish to keep it under wraps….)

Paul in 1970 my good Dad announced that we were holidaying in Arran that year and I was, as a very young lad, certain that we, from the English home counties, would be murdered in our beds in Glasgow, our stopping point en route, such was that City's reputation then.

Clearly we survived and - although during 2 weeks in Arran the sun shone only for 20 minutes, I found a deep and abiding love of this fair land and formed the lasting desire to live here - my later experiences north of the border only increased this feeling.

Now and only now as an old man I can indulge myself!
