It looks like labyrinthine. Anagram of bl (case of Blackpool) in the rainy. Meaning windy. But I don’t see why it’s only 11, not 12, or where the removed i comes in. Unless it’s a variant spelling

Other sites suggest this is meant to be 12 letters. setter's error ?

For what it’s worth, I parsed it as “labyrinthine”, saw it as setter error and submitted with two letters in the third cell.

The answers published today give the entry as “Labrynthine”. I haven’t found any dictionary entries with that spelling, albeit I haven’t done an exhaustive search (there are limits even to my pedantry).
