Cannot parse the following five clues, so explanations as to how you arrived at the answer would be appreciated....
7. Sinister order given by spy boss (6) ?A?I?N. Why malign?
8. Limited range of short broadcast just uncovered (6) ??D?U?. Can't parse radius or maybe it's medium???
4. Fabric bow mounted on outside of package (5) Is it crape? Arc backwards + (p)ackag(e)
16. Effect of weightlifting, somewhat buff (7) ?U?N?S? Is it burn + ish? I've never heard of weightlifters feeling the burn! Burnish is to buff/polish.
18. Tiles with depth of colour for part of wall (8) ?A?S?O?E. I'm assuming tone is the "depth of colour" so thought of capstone, camstone, lapstone and ragstone but how do the first four letters of the word relate to tiles?

ChrisE, Crape has its own entry in Chambers, a thin crinkled silk...

Trelos, for 16, the Chambers definition of 'burn' includes 'pain felt in a muscle, experienced during demanding exercise', so seems OK.

Thank you chrise and malone. Just number 18 to parse now. I don't understand the "tiles" part of the clue
