6th March

The weirdness of ST slues continues to confound!

11A One fluked it with English loner (9) = ANCHORITE
I get that "it with English" gives ITE. One = "AN"?

I don't get this one...

17A Indeed, without work, nothing new made as well (3,4,7) = FOR GOOD MEASURE

????

25A Name a song about a horny individual (5) = NYALA
A Nyala is a type of horned antelope. "Name" = "N"?. The rest I have no idea.

27A Me, loosely (4,2,4) = MORE OR LESS
Obviously MORE OR LESS means loosely, approximately, roughly etc. but I don't see how you could get to the answer from the clue alone?

5D A head coach needs time off (4) = EACH
?????

19D To cut cost, help set up beam (7) = RADIATE
Get that "beam" = RADIATE and "help set up" AID DIA but I wouldn't say RATE has anything to do with "to cut cost"?

Thanks in advance!

Flukes are the barbs of an anchor, so ‘one flukes’ is an anchor.

An anchorite is someone who has withdrawn from the world.

Each is A HEAD (Teach minus T).

As in the cost is Fifty a head.
