It seems appropriate that this is the hardest AZ I can remember. Thousands of years ago, when Ximenes was still alive, I had a month of compulsory absence from work between leaving one job and starting the next ("gardening leave", they called it). As it was winter I didn't do any gardening but decided I would tackle the apparently impossible Ximenes in the Sunday paper. I finished it around lunchtime on the Friday, but I did finish it. AZ 2595 isn't quite as tricky, happily. I have all but 3 answers but I can't see how to read the misprints. Clue order leads to gibberish, as does reading the letters as they appear in the grid. Something's wrong somewhere. Is it really the misprints, or the correct letters?
