31a - 3 letter IVR for Yemen + R(ot) - definition is a dialect/'yokel' word for a "weed"

Thanks Brendan...full grid now with the 6 clashes,(can't make out what they spell out) 2 word phrase and 8 + 1 superfluous...no idea of the colouring despite google...

Stumped by the very last step. The two colours. Googling doesn't help that much. "Coloured in the opposite way"? That would mean (if I've got it right) that the colour for the unclued entry would begin with the same letter as 31ac? Or not? There seem to be several options.

The highlighted thematic is the only one not moving away.

The clashes read in order, xwordfan - left to right, one letter each time (and repeat).
