I really like patrich's use of Queen Anne with my shortlist including mattrom @ 2, aristo @4 & jws @ 12 but my vote is also going to spike2's combination of Iodine, gloves and dab hand @ 20.

@ paul: I was really surprised Chambers gives Cricket & Croquet but not Country, clubs.

All the votes are in, so it's time to wrap things up.

Thanks to all for taking part. It was a bit of a slow burner, but there was a good response in the end. (I originally was going to go with “Clever Dick”, which might have got more interest, but I decided it was simply too big a risk!)

Anyway, we ended up with 25 clues from 14 setters. Aristo@4, buddy@11, patrich@15 and dorrien@23 each got 1 vote; runner-up was tyke51@6 with 2 votes; and in joint first place, with 4 votes apiece are ginge@9 and spike2@20. This leaves me with the unenviable task of choosing between the 2. I think they are both excellent and either would be a worthy winner. I'm going to go with spike2@20, using the dubious logic that it also gained ginge's vote.

So well done Spike, with his winning anagram: Cleric drops iodine while taking gloves off to dab hand.
