20. Ettle, plan- hidden in the clue. It's a Scottish word, so Sturgeon..

Sorry, hidden reversed/backing.

21. Old Hat tired, outdated. C old (shivering, lose the first letter) +Hat, Balmoral, say.

Gooner, glad I could help. 'Ettle' popped up in a few crosswords last year - I remember seeing it once or twice, and it used things such as the K being dropped from Kettle.
