Jeez! For the love of God just take me outside and shoot me!!

I have been looking at nothing but the definitions of "trap" and "deck" for the last 90 minutes! I swear, there must be something wrong with me!

Thanks Quisling, and thanks again Ginge and Granama:-)

To be fair Brendan, it’s pretty well buried, and it took me a while to see it too, even though I knew what it had to be. Maybe not quite 90 mins 😉

Thanks to Ifor for another excellent puzzle (mini breakdowns notwithstanding).

I do love art so I really appreciate puzzles like Serpent's Mirror Image in the IQ (Georgia O'Keeffe Cow's Skull) and this one by the ever reliable Ifor:-)

Sorry Brendan, I was probably too cryptic. I was thinking of how one would brighten up the halls with boughs of holly and completely forgot to mention the relationship with the answer - must have been had mental wheel-spin thinking that deck was the answer and not wanting to put the word in the reply. Doh!

No problem, Granama, I appreciate the help.

I can't explain my word blindness but it must be akin to those trying to read the "Paris in the the spring" pyramid" - A girl sitting next to me at a Derren Brown show showed it to me and, no matter how many times I read it, I just couldn't unread the error (see what I did there 😀)

I normally find Ifor's puzzles extremely taxing but once I realised what the thematic element was everything slotted into place. Kudos to Ifor for a well constructed puzzle. His always are.

Can anyone please help with the parsing of 32d - soak, engulfing last of various lice (4). I’ve got a couple of options but I’m not entirely happy with either.

With the C in liCe extra, soak = RET

Thanks buddy - for some reason I forgot about the extra C even although I’d removed the C from the other paired clue. Doh!

Sorry last post should have said I’d added not removed the C in the other paired clue. It’s been one of those days! Thanks again buddy.
