Congrats Paul, very nice. Not sure they technically ‘swap positions’ but hey. Cheers Buddy, enjoyed the challenge. As soon as I saw Marty’s “wild” lion I knew I should have gone with that secondary indicator for “ran”, oh well next time! And thanks for the other mentions, I agree with your assessments. Fiery’s “Baraba Windsor” made me laugh.
Cheers all

Congrats paul and thanks buddy.

Slightly smug that I saw the critical queen move in 1!

Great clue paul, well done.
Thanks for the mention - I did consider "disowned the bastard of his loin..." (ref.Galahad) but felt the clue was getting too long !

Congratulation, paul! Thanks to buddy for hosting and the challenge.
Incidentally, as a casual chess player I was for a long time unaware that using both hands to execute the "castle" procedure is illegal! One has to move the King first, then the Rook (or "castle").

See for instance the first section of

Thanks Buddy! Point taken on civil engineers. Would have improved the clue by a huge margin!
Great word, I was going to use “rookie” but couldn’t make it work. Thanks for the great prizes! The chess one was fascinating. Point taken Jon - it’s years since I was in the school chess team (lboard 6 I think) although it was against Harrow school.
Welcome again Fiona - I hope this was not just a fleeting visit.
See all of you next week.
