I would suggest that the first idiot goes to La Palma (though probably not at just this moment). From the high point, Roque de los Muchachos, you can actually see that the horizon is curved!

Many thanks to patrich for hosting and the clips. I always enjoy musical references, and these are good ones! Believe I've heard of the Toadies... perhaps I once played a tune on Youtube after noticing their picturesque name, but it didn't stick in the memory.
