Also, for 53a "Get hands confused? Mix-up initially is costly putting left for right" (7) i've got MISDEAL but not sure.

I cannot parse this one:-
24 Across - "Pearl such as the last across clue?"
The answer is THIRTIETH and maybe they're referring to the PREVIOUS clue across (23 Across) or the LAST across clue in the puzzle (54 Across)?

PEARL is the thirtieth anniversary, but, without seeing the puzzle, I can't get any further.

Pearl is the 30th anniversary. I can’t see the grid but are there 30 across clues perhaps?

Thanks, Chris E - I hadn't thought of that. The answer to the PREVIOUS clue is EXCEL, which. of course, is 40 in Roman numerals, so that must be the connection.
