Thanks! Lots of fun, though it feels a bit strange to be starting on the Christmas theme already.

On the easy side, but very nice. I've never seen 15A theme word C spelled that way. Thanks, syzzie and sunray.

The theme was rather disappointing, & disjointed.
Oh well, there's always next month.

I have the whole thing solved except 20D, where I have the 3 checked letters, but not the first or last letter. Even so, I cannot parse the clue to complete the grid. Any pointers/hints?

The "Persian" in question has 4 legs. First 3 letters are an anagram followed by 2 letter "that hurts":-)
