Stuck on a few cryptic crossword clues for a private crossword!! Please help!

All I have for this one is that the last letter is X

10. Remove coulombs inside electric current (5)

3. 1 of group's eternally distraught (5)

I know this one begins with a T

It looks like 8 is 'something' TAX, but can't see the rest.

8. Could the numbers refer to other clues? Is there a 5a & 5d? Possibly an anagram.

I'm guessing it's either INCOME TAX (obvious answer) or EXCISE TAX (because of XXI = 21 in the clue)

5a is FACTS and 5d is FOXTROT

There was also a clue:

23a. Binds Boils, e.g with 21

which was OBLIGES but I'm not sure if the 21 has anything to do with 8a also?

FACTS - F + EE + XXI = EXCISE TAX I think, although I've not seen F for 5 very often, and don't know where the other 5 comes from.

Yes, it's FACTS minus F (foxtrot in the phonetic alphabet) + XXI + E + E (engineers)
