I guess people who read The Times tend to be older and may remember Diana Dors. She was married to a bloke with hair like Andrew Neil IIRC.

ParadigmShifter, I agree that many Times readers are old enough to remember Diana Dors and I'm one of them. It's still too weak a reference for me - Diana, just Diana, gives us Dors? That might have worked when Diana was at her peak - 70 years ago? - but in 2021...

27 is indeed a weak clue but my issue with it is not so much the dated reference as the unindicated definition by example. This has become common in recent Times puzzles and although I'm aware some solvers don't mind, I don't like it. There are possible exceptions where the DBE probably doesn't need to be indicated - there is only one famous Zsa Zsa as far as I know - but I think it's a shame that lack of indication is becoming the norm.
