I have just served out a 12hr ban with no warning or explanation other than 'inappropriate behaviour'. Again.

My posts on the Listener thread appear to have been deleted. One thanked a contributor and the first was VERY carefully composed to only contain information from the preamble.

What is going on? Once is happenstance but twice starts to feel vindictive!

I did email as per the banned message but had no response.

The simple answer is that I have no idea. I have not, repeat not, banned you Granama1. I wouldn't ban for 12 hrs anyway, I never ban anyone for less than 1,000 days. You say Again, has this happened previously and if so when?

I certainly haven't deleted any posts on the Listener thread. Now and again I have moved posts from the No Answers thread to the Answers thread if I have been made aware that the Answers thread is the best place for them. However, I've not done that recently.

As per email I've seen how patient you are with people I would have blown a fuse with so I assumed I was being 'auto-banned' by a computer. (:o)

Probably best to delete the thread as it all seems to be in the technical guru camp now.

Granama1, thanks for your response. As I said in my email, I’m going to leave this thread in case anyone else has had the same problem.

Note to other Forum Users - if you have been banned for 12 hours, then it is a system ban and I need to know about it. I never ban for such a piffling amount of time, I go for 1,000 days!

I found I was banned a year or two ago for "inappropriate behaviour". When I mentioned it I was immediately reinstated as it was a mistake. These things can happen.

Thanks Orson, computers can be a law unto themselves at times.

If anyone is banned, please email me so that the matter can be investigated.

I've started keeping a list of 'Forum Problems' so I can check back to see if you have been banned for some misdemeanour or whether it is a system error.
