Thanks to Paulh for the uplifting challenge. A fascinating clip about the R101. "... was rushed into service for political reasons"... doesn't sound like we've learnt much. At least our subs won't be built till about 2040....
I wonder how the passengers got on and off?

The R101 was a truly stupid idea - surely even in 1929 there were aeroplanes that carried as many people as 54, and very much faster?
