I do agree - and it's not just the Crosswords; the magazine suffers from the same problem.

I hope I’m correct in thinking that I should post this on this thread….I’d appreciate help with include lights 19 and 26. For 19 I have ?NP??T?AL. Am I right in thinking that it is an unusual word for ‘unbiased’? For 26 I have REI??R? I know that it is an anagram of a type of noun, but otherwise I have no clue. Thank you.

You are correct about 19d., and all letters are correct.
26a becomes an unusual phrase (4,3) to do with horse riding.
