1st one, cricket = insect, minus "c"- start of Compton

INSEcT i.e cricket minus the C in Compton.
A SINGLE run around H husband gives SHINGLE

I think run can mean a single ie a one run in some sportsm maybe cricket or baseball, bui I'm by no means certain.
