Took me a moment to catch on to Tyke's "sneakiness" so tyke51 @25 gets my vote.

For me the sneakiness is almost a great clue but as it would leave me fuming if I encountered it so instead I go for Buddy @33.

Lots of great efforts with spike's wrist-spinner (in context) impressing me along with tyke51's "is" but my vote goes to mattrom @ 6 which reads smoothly (as we'd come to expect from our antipodean wordsmith).

The votes are in apart from busby who did indicate that he was unlikely to cast his ballot.

This week we attracted 33 clues from 14 setters, not bad for the time of year. Voting was confined to 4 entries.

In third place was tyke#25 using the clever "is" device which also attracted many likes and comments.

Joint second was a mavellous example of smooth surface and smart wordplay from paul #10 and an unusual "prime" indication in buddy's clever #33.

Congratulations and welcome back to our glaswegian genius ginge with the clue that would have got me chewing the pencil down to the lead
