39d "Writhing unnaturally sorted out itch at toe" (9)

A?H?T?T?C. I'm assuming this is an anagram of itch at toe but if so cant find a word for writhing unnaturally.

Thanks chrise; finished now but found it a trickier one this week.

Can anyone enlighten me on 14a in this puzzle? Every Charlie sitting
in plane gives a big wave (11). The answer is "Beachcomber" but that is not a big wave but a beach bum. Any help please?

Despard, Chambers gives one definition of Beachcomber as 'a long, rolling wave.'
